What's pollution like in your state?

Air pollution varies from state to state. To look up the pollutants at play close to home, check out the EPA's comparison map

    https://www.epa.gov/air-emissions-in...ant-comparison

    Multi-pollutant Comparison

    National Multi-pollutant Emissions Comparison
Sometimes it is important to examine multiple pollutants together. The chart below compares the percent contribution from source sectors(1 pg, 14 K) across the common pollutants. Ammonia is also shown because it contributes to particle pollution. This helps discern which sectors contribute to emissions of multiple pollutants. This comparison is based on the most recent emissions inventory. Please allow a moment for the chart to generate.

Florida has little polution at least that you can identify. Its not like the northeast where you can smell and see the polution. The haze of pollution or the remains of it on your car and even your house.

Florida has little manufacturing the air is cleaner its brighter, there are more sunny days than the northeast has by far its mostly green all year around and that makes up for all the shortcomings it may have like high humidity strange varmints and an occaisional hurricane

Can I ask whether your description is on target with the interactive chart I linked? I'm just curious.

Seems to be, it looks like ammonia and volatile organic compounds are the highest

As I said pollutants that you can identify, it just seems so much clearer in fla

Generally, I hate to go downtown as the air quality is terrible. Somedays a haze hovers over the city.

Did you check out your location on the chart? Any thoughts on the information it shows?

Here you go, Bexar County, TX:

Dust is bad because it's dry and there's lots of limestone. WHen it first raids the streets are real slick so you have to be careful.

Methane is the most common pollutant where I work. It's awful.

The EPA is always dinging Phoenix for having "too high a particulate count" in the air, and local authorities are forever declaring "No Burn" days, where you can be fined for lighting your fireplace. We live in a valley - though some categorize it as a "basin" - in the middle of a large desert; those particulates are SAND!
Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing.” - Robert E. Howard
