Thread: Homemade hot sauce

    My mother-in-law makes wicked hot sauce. She's mexican so that makes sense.

    Unfortunately she wont give out the recipe. Takes a few days to make a batch of it.

    One drip in a bowl a soup and it's kicking hot.

    One mason jar lasts us about a year. It's mostly just used for cooking since if you tried to eat it with chips or something your face would melt off.

    Maybe my palate is gettign used to heat. I use habanero sauce for breakfast. That's my go to. Sontava is my brand.

    I'm starting to think that's the issue. My palate is used to heat and I will need to reduce the sauce a bit more. A habanero may be needed to seal the deal.

    The serranos have a nice kick to them,. I just used them for chili. I'll give it another go this weekend. Lord knows I have enough peppers.
