Should be spent strictly on defense and not offensive adventurism.

I dont know how we could project power to save lives without being overtly strong. Look at 1932-1938 US military weakness and the empowerment of Japan and Germany in their adventurism.

I don't know enough about our budget but I'd want it as small as constitutionally necessary and then strictly monitored.

I chose "somewhat decreased." Unfortunately, we've reached a point where there is really no going back. Millions of people would be out of jobs without the MIC. The US also has a lot of enemies chomping at the bit. I do not see a realistic way to drastically reduce the budget without serious repercussions.

I think it needs to be drastically decreased, but I also agree with @Adelaide in that it’s probably highly impractical to dramatically decrease it at this stage. It will have to be gradually and systematically decreased over time until we reach the dramatic decrease that is necessary.

Interesting that 80% of respondents here think it should go down. I wonder how representative that is if the nation as a whole?

There is a lot of fraud and bull$#@! perpetrated on the public, we don't really have a republic or a democracy.
