Yes, Trump said he had called all the families. His exact words: "I think I've called every family of someone who's died."
Yes, he said other words, because he's has to backtrack. A lot. But he said those words. And why did he say those words? To get credit for something he didn't do and to distract from the fact that he failed to even mention our slain soldiers for almost two weeks.
No, I didn't criticize him for not contacting them. I would prefer he not. Everything he touches turns to crap. Better for the families if he leaves them alone.
So, that's two people you're saying falsehoods about: Trump and me.
So you think I care that I disgust someone like you?
Think again.

If you're a racist, I probably have you on ignore.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

The problem is that he lies a lot, about stupid things that are easily cross-checked. At this point, nothing he says is expected to be the truth. So, no, he not the first President to lie, but he's the first one to lie about things that are public knowledge. No President has to call the families of fallen soldiers. Only in special cases, but pretending that he does and then not doing so contributes to the erosion of his reputation and his credibility.
For people who had serious issues regarding his character before and during the election, since he was nevertheless a public figure even before politics, his behavior in office has done nothing to change those opinions. If anything, he is worse than he seemed before. Unless his behavior changes, the antipathy regarding his Presidency will not stop. This is a problem entirely of his own making. Every time he tweets, thousands of people are checking on the veracity of his statements. Any normal politician would keep these views to themselves rather than risk being outed in the media, but not Trump. He is so arrogant that he thinks that he can twitter complete falsehoods without consequences. His interest in the Presidency is not really about the nation, but about his ego, which is so inflated that he is alienating his own party, assuming he actually has a party. He continues to refuse to learn that he is not the CEO of America - government doesn't work that way.

Oh, and your post was completely spot-on.
I'm prancing like a pony.
Trump is trying to do exactly what he promised to do during his campaign.
The fact that he makes people like you cry is just a bonus.
