    Guide to Under/Overzealous Feminism

Yes, this thread is intended in a sarcastic, half-joking manner, so don't take everything too seriously. ALL of it, however, does describe significant groups of people who explicitly describe themselves as feminists.

    The underzealous feminist...

-Insists there's no such thing as patriarchy.
-Spends most of their money defending men accused of rape in court.
-Opposes equal pay laws because women really just want flexible scheduling.
-Reflexively uses the expression "not all men" every time a case of sexual assault is brought up.
-Supports Men's History Month even though men's history month is called every month but March.
-Thinks that "feminist porn" actually exists.
-Insists that Ivanka Trump is "one of us" because she has a clothing line.

    The overzealous feminist...

-Holds that the existence of trans women is a form of cultural appropriation.
-Insists that pacifism is the appropriate response to the Islamic State.
    -Whines about Beyonce's stage outfits.
-Tells you to check your thin privilege if you're not instinctively aroused by someone who's 200 lbs. overweight.
-Hates Wonder Woman and Mad Max: Fury Road because VIOLENCE!

Too funny! I'm going with "I'm a little of both and a lot of neither". :0p

There are two basic types of feminists.

The destructive type who attack men and call everyone rapists and misogynists and the constructive type who seek to empower women.

One tears down, one builds up.

Experience in the movement tells me that, while there are countless individual theories of the case, there are three overarching superschools of feminist thought, if you will, that the rest all fall into:

Radical Feminists - Focus on promoting the collective interests of women.
Liberal Feminists - Focus on promoting the individual interests of women.
Conservative Feminists - Focus on promoting the interests of men.

-The first two agree that the third is mostly just men's activism for women.
-The second two agree that the first is opposed to femininity itself.
-The first and the third agree on the merits of female-only spaces, that the sex industry harms women, and question whether trans women are actually women.

Suffice it to say that indeed you cannot please them all. Personally, I embrace all three of the majority views described immediately above with the exception of the point about trans women.

Feminist for Life is a group of conservative feminists. They describe themselves thus:

Established in 1972, Feminists for Life of America is a nonsectarian, nonpartisan, grassroots organization that seeks real solutions to the challenges women face. Our efforts are shaped by the core feminist values of justice, nondiscrimination, and nonviolence. Feminists for Life of America continues the tradition of early American feminists such as Susan B. Anthony, who opposed abortion.

They and other conservative feminists are much closer to the feminist groups that made the most differences for women up to the 70s.

Frankly, polly, I have not seen any conservative feminist group who "Focus on promoting the interests of men." Are you serious? It's so hard to tell.

What exactly are the "interests of men"?
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

Oh - you meant on this article. Well, I'm going to take a shot and say I think what is being referred to is the following conservative women agenda items:

    - Pro Life / women are to stay at home and pop out the babies whilst men go off to work and hook up at lunch with their mistresses
    - Pro Religion in which it's preached that the men are the head of the household and women are there to serve the men
    - Anti affirmative action (I really don't know if this is true but it's pretty sensational so I added it)
    - Anti equal pay (please see explanation for #3)

    This is a good start.
