Americans Agree More Than They Realize

OK, most social media is created for profit. I'm not really talking about forums so much as FB, Twitter and the like.

Just like vBulletin, for profit, used for other purposes.

If you try to view this problem with fake people as a positive situation as there are so many entities that have a stake in understanding the social interactions of people on these websites and are constantly monitoring everything we do and say on the internet. fake people make it impossible to get an accurate assessment of human behavior which makes it difficult to use that information to come up with better methods that are used to brainwash the masses to accomplish those agendas from politicians to corporate advertisers to influence their success.

I come to forums to discuss ideas, not for reality.

Social media has no altruistic aim. Its general aim is membership and advertising. FB certainly doesn't care whether people are expressing their views in a sympathetic fashion. They care about increasing registration and hence advertising dollars. How people interact is irrelevant until it is a problem that involves legal fees or loss of members. Whoever said that social media brings people together? What it does do is shrink the world and allow information and views to cross borders and oceans. It is the ultimate vehicle for free speech.

Social media just amplifies human traits. Through social media perception and mob rule can trump facts and logic even more quickly that they could before. Social media amplifies the herd mentality of humans.
