And now it's time to winterize

I gave the lawn it's last mow of the year the other day and the garden is torn down , with the composter full. The hose is put away and some raking, but not nealy enough, is done. Our storgae buildings have receieved fall cleaning . But much is left to do. We've got to get the docks out of the water , put the golf cart , lawn mower and trolling motor away and get the snow blower ready, more raking to do and lots of little odds and ends .

How do I winterize? I wear pants instead of shorts. The automatic thermometer kicks the pool heater on when needed. We eat-out on the restaurant's patio. Oh, and we have schadenfreude when we see other in the country shuffling over ice and through snow. Ain't Arizona grand in the winter.

My lawn won't get its last mow til Christmas. It has slowed down a lot but the leaves are late coming down so I still have a ways to go in that department. I have moved all my plants indoors that can't overwinter. Cleaned up some of the misc. things and put them away, but really I do a lot outside over winter. I am more active in the cold than I am the heat in this regard--clearing brush, building things, etc.

Meh. I just don't care for January and February. It's bleak.

Kin folk said "Jed, move away from there!"

Seriously, we just had our first colf front! It got down to a bonechilling 53 degrees

As much as I hate cold, it signals the end of hurricane season and the beginning of fossil, season!

I need to cut the herbs on the balcony, dry them, and get them in the fridge (in ziplocks). I have enough catnip to keep my cats flying high for months.
