I'm kinda spoiled, we have some amazing oysters here in WA state. Even the $#@!tiest bars down along the coast you cannot go wrong with the raw oysters/shooters if they're on the menu. It's awesome.

I've heard Florida has some very decent oysters as well.

I like north eastern oysters the best. Not large. Pretty briny.

Winter months are best, I have had decent one and great ones, these came from win Dixie, glad we bought a good amount, they can be hit or miss.

Next time we buy quantity, we should sample one, first! 40 is a chunk of change for dinner! It did not even fill us up, had to eat some El Charro, to consider dinner complete!

I cant get past the eating of the oysters gut with all of his stomach contents going in me. That and the chance of getting very ill.

I would not eat oysters in the desert, either! Least not raw, unless they flew them in on ice. Think FL oysters are pricey?

Speaking of shellfish, I had an amazing Manhattan Clam Chowder at lunch today. Big, big pieces of clam meat.

Raw they just taste like a slimy version of whatever you put on them. I like them fried okay enough, especially on a po boy, but I do an oyster chowder that everybody is blown away by when I do it.
