    Woman Fired For Flipping Off Donald Trump’s Motorcade

    In a Saturday interview with HuffPost, Briskman, a 50-year-old mother of two, said she was stunned that someone had taken a picture of her giving Trump the middle finger.

    As the photo circulated online, Briskman decided to tell Akima’s HR department what was happening when she went to work on Monday. By Tuesday, her bosses called her into a meeting and said she had violated the company’s social media policy by using the photo as her profile picture on Twitter and Facebook.

    “They said, ‘We’re separating from you,‘” said Briskman. “Basically, you cannot have ‘lewd’ or ‘obscene’ things in your social media. So they were calling flipping him off ‘obscene.’”

    Briskman, who worked in marketing and communications at Akima for just over six months, said she emphasized to the executives that she wasn’t on the job when the incident happened and that her social media pages don’t mention her employer. They told her that because Akima was a government contractor, the photo could hurt their business, she said.

    Virginia is an employment-at-will state, meaning employers can fire people anytime and for any reason. But Briskman said what’s been particularly infuriating is that a male colleague kept his job after recently posting lewd comments on his Facebook page that featured Akima LLC as his cover photo. She said this colleague was reprimanded for calling someone “a $#@!ing Libtard $#@!” on Facebook, but was allowed to delete the post and keep his job.

    Why are men disciplined differently then women in the workplace? Is there a double standard or were these two instances of policy violations appropriately addressed?

    Thoughts?

    Maybe the libtard wasn't in a position to take away the compay's contracts and the Donald is, at least from the employer's perspective. That she put it as her profile picture and then went to her employers makes me think this person could have had an ulterior motive....

    Even if she did have an ulterior motive, the male employee also put his comments and photo on his social media page and was given the option of deleting it and keeping his job. Why the different rules for men and women?

    It's possible that the man was an employee and she was a contractor. In which case, there may have been additional stipulations within the contract regarding conduct.

When a brave cyclist in Virginia “successfully” and “repeatedly” saluted Trump with a rigid digit as he drove past, he could not mistake her intent. In that moment, she was a vessel of our weary rage, drawing that power into her hand with a small and bony lightning rod.

    Well the article seems to imply that an anti-liberal ramt was more tolerated than the anti-conservative one which very well could be true. The real issue of course is whether or not the customer is 'customer facing'

    Unfortunately, the company has the unfettered right to terminate the business relationship between her and the company. The company is within their rights to discipline employees as they deem fit unless they were to single her out and say because she is a female, etc they are taking this action against her; then I think she'd have legal recourse otherwise. I'm assuming she's non-union, so she really has no rights in the workplace other then a few state and federal laws for the most egregious violations.
