" I'm old-fashioned. I like two sexes! And another thing, all of a sudden I don't like being married to what is known as a 'new woman'. I want a wife, not a competitor. Competitor! Competitor!" - Spencer Tracy in 'Adam's Rib' (1949)
Art thou every retard among us related to thine uncle or mistress by way of moral or illegitimate rendezvous? Thus, we are one side of the other's coin by luck or pluck. - Jimmyz

My computer was lagging badly acting strange. I would suddenly have my system reboot while playing games.
This is a tough problem to diagnose, first you go the software route, you turn off all software you have running to see if that solves the problem. If it doesnt not, you download and update all your drivers, whether you have the newest or not to see if one was corrupted.
This is where it can get very expensive. Next is hardware, first thing is check all your temperatures. Temps of CPU and GPU are most important and check if all your fans are running, including your power suppy fan. If that checks out all ok, then you go to your memory. Depending on how much memory you have, I have 32 gig, I pulled two mem sticks out and moved the other two into that slot, checked and it didnt solve the problem, then I switched the sticks again same didnt fix the problem. The shows its not a memory problem. Next is the power suppy, if that doesnt solve it, next is the video card, then the motherboard. Some do mother board first because they are cheaper than vid cards.
First thing we did was check the voltage coming out of my power supply, it was fine. Then we checked each rail coming out of the powersupply, they checked out fine. I replaced it and that solved my problem. Even though a psu checks out fine, it doesnt test it under stress and thats when components overheart or breakdown, my powersupply was a good one and I moved it from computer to computer it had been in 3 systems I built and it was going on 7yrs old. Brownouts murder powersupplies over time and fla has a TON of them.
My problem is now solved

So you replaced your power unit and it fixed the problem?
Power always thinks it has a great soul, and vast views, beyond the comprehension of the weak. And that it is doing God service when it is violating all His laws.

Yes, I strongly suggest anyone buy at least a gold+ rated psu. The size depends on your needs, if you are a gamer etc. For gamers the sweetspot is an 850watt. Less if you just peruse the forum.
A bad psu can externally test ok but fail under load, thats what mine was doing. It caused alot of other little problems that was annoying me, like lagging getting into sites and hiccups.
The new PSU solved it all
