I would be shocked if you get a straight answer

What? So you have an issue with the guy that shot the nut being called a hero, because the victims didn't know that they were the victims? Really? I bet the ones that are not dead know they were the victims, and I bet the families of the ones that are dead know they are the victims, and you know what I bet they all wish that someone in the Church had a gun and could have been a HERO earlier in the event. How about we ask the survivors or the families what they think of the guy that shot and the guy that chased down the nut job......
I will be honest I figured you would have some ridiculous rant, that would mean nothing but be a lot of hot air, but I was wrong.

That response shows a lack of intelligent life. If you are really from Alabama, I feel sad for the entire state.
I have mentioned several times that I think the word hero is far overused, but the actions of the 2 citizens are commendable not matter what label you put on them.

Hero is not a term either of the good Samaritans used to describe their actions. Military folks don't like the term to describe themselves for acts of bravery above and beyond. Nevertheless their actions were heroic to us.

Correct ... everybody should be patted down before going into a church ... problem is, when toting a gun into church nobody knows if you're a mass-murderer or a *Hero*.

But having heroes present will prevent most mass shooters from acting, as they seek out soft, easy, "gun free" targets by design.

This guy definitely had issues with women:

Four women tell the San Antonio Express-News that the suspect in the Texas church shooting either sexually assaulted or harassed them.

The newspaper identified the women only by their middle names at their request to remain anonymous and contacted family or friends to corroborate their stories, it reported (http://bit.ly/2hdUeK6 ) Tuesday.

One woman told the newspaper that Devin Patrick Kelley had forced her into performing sexual acts in 2011, but she never filed a police report. She says Kelley became obsessive and she changed her phone number to get away from him.

A second woman told the newspaper that Kelley made lewd comments at her during her freshman year of high school at New Braunfels High School in 2008-09 and slapped her buttocks. A school district official says she has no way of confirming the claim or whether it was reported.

Two other women told the newspaper that they were harassed and threatened by Kelley on Facebook after one had posted about being unhappy that Donald Trump was elected president.

For the two years following his confinement, Kelley resided in New Braunfels, where he was investigated by the Comal County Sheriff’s Department for sexual assault and rape in 2013, Jennifer Smith, the department’s public information officer, said Tuesday.

However, despite some media reports that the case had been closed, Smith told the Rivard Report that it remains open.

“The case is actually still open. It was never closed. Because it’s open, we’re seeking guidance from the Texas Attorney General on what we can release,” Smith said, referring to “sensitive details” contained in case records.
