Occidental Professor Warns: Be 'Suspicious of Males Who Strongly Identify as Men'

In an article for Public Books, Lisa Wade, a sociology professor at Occidental College recently wrote that “we should reject the idea that men have a psychic need to distinguish themselves from women.” Why? Because “masculinity is toxic.” In fact, we should be “suspicious of males who strongly identify as men.”

My wife has a theory on this -- notwithstanding what they say, women eventually long for a man like their grandfather or father. She thinks that to some extent, that's the appeal of Trump. He says what's on his mind. Not my theory -- hers.

They're weirdoes who hate men. Toxic masculinity is the absence of actual masculinity like gang bangers who get their validation in violence with other gang bangers and think that's manhood. Men are masculine, strong and very different from women and women are attracted to it but there's nothing toxic about it. Does she still see masculinity as "toxic" when she needs a new roof? Or a jar opened? Or a repaired bridge to drive over? Or fuel to keep warm in winter ? What a crock of $#@!.
