    I should be shocked

    But I'm not.

Taxpayer piggy bank lets Congress settle sexual harassment cases in secret
A little-known law has been on the books for more than a decade that gives anyone accusing a federal lawmaker of sexual harassment the right to sue – but only if they consent to a lengthy drawn-out process that includes a written statement within 180 days of the incident, 30 days of counseling and another month or so of mediation.

During that time, the claimant’s employer will be notified. The lawmaker’s identity, however, will remain confidential even if he or she is found guilty.

Mary Bono shares story of sexual harassment in Congress

Should there be a settlement – and there have been many – it’s the American taxpayer that’s on the hook, with “no public disclosure and no consequences for the harasser,” said California Democratic Rep. Jackie Speier.

Whenever sex cases or other cases are settled for money with a gag order what we have is legal extortion. Period! Without a lawyer making money off the process it would be... blackmail! And now congress has a grab ass slush fund and has for years? With our money!
How much you gonna take people? Because that's exactly the line they'll go to!
The citizen/subjects of this country need 3 things and they need them NOW!

    1) A set
    2) A clue
    3) A big ass stick to draw a line in the sand and then gaurd the line with.

What it does show is that certain types of deviate behaviour is permissible by Congressmen while being considered as criminal acts when comitted by others who can't take advantage of a slush fund.

The fact they pass such a law is monsters.

Yet another example of government corruption.

Unless they're rich and can generate their own slush fund. Also I don't think all sexual harrassment for work purposes crosses the legal line.

I wish we could find a few examples on government that wasn't linked to corruption!
