    Gal Gadot Won't Play Wonder Woman Again Unless Brett Ratner is Gone

    Over the summer, the film Wonder Woman made lead actress Gal Gadot a household name and implicit representative of female empowerment. Now she is wielding her power in a very Diana-like way in real life. From a recent Jezebel article:

    Gal Gadot has announced that she won’t go forward with Wonder Woman 2 unless Warner Brothers cancels its co-financing deal with accused sexual assailant/director Brett Ratner, whose company RatPac Entertainment co-produced, and profited from, the first film. RatPac-Dune, a joint venture with Dune Entertainment, also co-produced Justice League in which Gal Gadot stars.

    Ratner has been accused by six women, including Olivia Munn, of sexual harassment and misconduct; another accused him of rape; and most recently Ellen Page claimed that he outed her and humiliated her for her sexuality on set. After her initial report, Los Angeles Times reporter Amy Kaufman says she has been contacted by 45 more individuals with allegations.
    Now THAT (Gadot's) is what I call a truly heroic stand! As in Wonder Woman, all foes are powerless against her. What is Warner Brothers going to do: keep the sexual predator and find a different Wonder Woman for the sequel? I mean seriously. How well would THAT go over with the fans? She's got them. They need her.

    I know YOU know what the reaction of the usual suspects is going to be to this OP, Polly...and that you won't be surprised.

    They should probably ask you and Polly for permission first before posting their opinions. That way we can ensure that only the correct opinions make an appearance in this thread.

    That's a good idea, that way it won't get sidetracked like most threads do when they show up....

    Ironic, coming from the biggest derailer of threads in forum history.

    Good for her. While I thought her performance was great, the movie itself was just OK in my opinion.

    Seems Ms. Gal may be telling a story;

    "And to just clarify: There was some noise online over the weekend that Gadot wouldn’t sign for the sequel unless Brett Ratner’s name was removed from the franchise. We hear this is false. First, Gadot is locked in to star in Wonder Woman 2 and there haven’t been sour talks between the actress and Warner Bros’ upper brass in regard to Ratner. The studio is pushing both Gadot and Jenkins this awards season, and both were in cheery attendance Saturday night at the Movie Academy’s Governors Awards."

    "Second, RatPac Dune isn’t committed to finance Wonder Woman 2; its commitments with WB end with the April 20 release of Rampage. In addition, Ratner isn’t listed as producer on the first Wonder Woman, as RatPac was merely a passive financier."

    It's ok if you disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.

    Why kill a thread with facts. It takes all the fun out of the mud slinging.
