The Justice department is suing AT&T to prevent them from closing on a deal which would allow them to acquire Time-Warner which could lead the way to a huge battle.
1972 was the last time the government won an anti-trust case when SCOTUS ruled in their favor in the Ford Motor Company's attempted takeover of a spark-plug business; the government successfully argued that it would violate anti-trust laws.
