I did consider it, after wondering what it would taste like. I hear that they have glands that must be cut out, I assume in the groins or "armpits"

Drowning it seems like a pretty cruel way of killing it.

I have no issue with people relocating them or even shooting them if they are killing your chickens.

It seems to me that if people don't see it as a cruel method, they're either not aware that these are highly intelligent mammals...or they just don't care.

I think, the issue here is, not that he killed it, but, the way he killed it.

Even raccoons are living breathing things, with feelings, they, too, feel fear, to put it in a cage, so it would have to fight for its life, is cruel.

People who do things like that to animals, are worse than the animals themselves and, usually don't treat people any better, including their families.

Around these parts you have to relocate but, I forget, within a mile or so.

But if it killed my chickens or cat, I don't know....

Well, yeah, but I wouldn't put it in a cage and throw it in the water, to drown...... even for a raccoon, that has to be a horrible way to die.

Drowning is too merciful for raccoons.

    Meh.

A slow speed wood chipper would be more appropriate for those devil creatures.

That animals are aware of how their own species receives treatment, and then all those slaughterhouses called 'farms'. You don't think animals don't communicate how hens are grown to be eaten? So, what's the difference then, other than man is the one who taught animals the way to kill something? And you want to say you are part of a worthwhile civilization which deserves to continue on?

There's something very wrong, and it's not just what the raccoon was accused of doing. That millions of animals are sent to slaughterhouses every single day to feed millions of people who don't seem to think of where they have caused another living creature any pain. Millions of animals per day, and this man must drown another animal because it was not forgiven, so he deserves no forgiving.
