    The Mea Culpa thread

We have a few board improvement threads going. If we accept that board members are the cause of the pain because of bad faith behavior, then it must be up to us members to correct, yes.

Can members here admit their bad faith input and pledge their efforts to curtail and improve their participation within the current rules going forward?

    I will be the first, my sins;

I have used this board to alleviate my consternation for past political administration grievances to foster unfriendly political discourse.
I have insulted board members personally and unfairly to make my own mind comfortable without understanding the hurt I gave to innocent fellow members.
I have made perceived enemies of my fellow Americans without do consideration of their motives and opinion.

I could go on, but I would like others to opine as to how they may understand their foibles in the hopes for better member participation in the future.

I realize that condemning ones own behavior is tough but the discussion of member behavior needs a starting point.
" I'm old-fashioned. I like two sexes! And another thing, all of a sudden I don't like being married to what is known as a 'new woman'. I want a wife, not a competitor. Competitor! Competitor!" - Spencer Tracy in 'Adam's Rib' (1949)

Art thou every retard among us related to thine uncle or mistress by way of moral or illegitimate rendezvous? Thus, we are one side of the other's coin by luck or pluck. - Jimmyz

I'll admit I can be a dick. More often than not it's due to frustration.

When I see hyperbolic bull$#@! or sheer ignorance, I tend to react with mockery.

While I do attempt to see issues from the perspective of others, I often forget people have different values than I do and have had different life experiences.

I honestly do do try to put myself in their shoes, but it's impossible to see things the way they do.

I've been accused of being condescending. That may be true. It's really just my frustration with people not being reasonable...at least from my perspective.

I would like to be more understanding, but I see so much hysteria and ignorance. It's hard not to react. But at the end of the day, I don't hate anyone here and I only wish them the best.

The Canada thing frustrates me. Not because it offends me, but because it's laborious to explain over and over again.

    Like I said...I can be a dick.

    An honest introspection. Thank you!

BTW... me and my fellow Canadian underpants wearers only hate you because you do hockey better than us. Dont tell LeeKholer

I can be an A-hole, a bit hackish. Sometimes overly sensitive, or overly offensive.

Can get carried away in the insults, if I don't exercise restraint.

Making a real effort to avoid such things, hell... I even figured out what the cancel button is!
