According to biology, most violence which exists between male members of a species is motivated by the female members of the species either directly or indirectly, as competition and violence between males is done to prove their 'fitness' in mating.
If so, then this indirectly means that women are responsible for most or all of the violence committed by males, as were there no biological impetus to mate with females, there would be no motive for violence.
Likewise, this notion is immortalized in myths, such as that of Helen of Troy, in which the real motivation behind the warfare was a woman.
(Though of course, one could also argue that were it not for a desire to mate with males, female cattiness and competition wouldn't have a reason to exist either - so were it not for sex and the need to reproduce itself, maybe there would not be sexual violence - which is perhaps why some puritans and ascetics viewed the sex drive as something which should be repressed or denied altogether).
