I tend to agree. I went to college to learn. Not to make a lot of money. What you learn can be applied throughout your life, especially critical thinking skills.

Japan is interesting. You study hard from kindergarten on to get into a good university. Then you play because you're now pretty much guaranteed a good job and the company will train you.
