$60 to $70 is about what you'll pay for a 10 or 12 year old single malt. My boss is originally from Hong Kong and he mentioned a bottle of Japanese whiskey he has at home. Can't say I've ever tried it. Not sure if I've even seen it. They make a beer that I like. Asahi? It's very dry and that appeals to me.

Yeah, the Japanese are pretty good at making alcoholic drinks. Sake and plum wine in particular are my favorite.

I have tried sake. Wasn't feeling that. I drank it anyway because I was 20 and you drink what's there when you're 20.

LOL, ain't that the truth. I wouldn't really actively seek it out, but I'm not disappointed when someone brings it to a party and offers me some, or I go to a Japanese restaurant. Though really, if I go to a Japanese restaurant and I'm given the choice of plum wine or sake, I choose plum wine.

At a restaurant I would go that route simply for the sake of an authentic experience.
