I'm simply baffled at this sudden hatred for science and scientists. It's incredibly depressing that the country seems to be shifting away from science and education like they are symptoms of what's gone wrong in the country. Weird to me......

I haven't seen much hatred for science and scientists. I have seen people have problems with the politicization of science.

In this area there is a big push for STEM education starting in high school.

Donald doesn't hate the Chinese--just their products....well just their products that don't come with Trump licensing.....Muslims, however, are pretty much the devil to him.

Just as an FYI for you guys, here in Wichita with many big aircraft companies there is quite a bit of aerospace research going on. I know a guy who was in on the tomahawk missile project, and another who helped design the gun in the Apache that aims where you look. It also happens that I know of a group of friends people who are working on some advanced materials for aircraft manufacture. They recently recieved a $2 million 4 year research grant. Sounds like a lot, right? Well its not. For starters it's a 4 year grant, so that's $500,000 a year. There are 5 of them so that's $100,000 a year each. Out of that they've gotta pay for lab space, computer time, material and equipment, and probably a grad student or two. Then live on what's left.

Ain't nobody gettin' rich offa research grants.
