I can tell you this, being in a mental institution can be far worse than prison. The "attendents" are not trained like Correction Personel the patients are not nearly controlled as prisoners and males and females mostly co mingle.

I never heard of slender man either and still dont know

I general I think mental hospitals are for treatment ( which is not a specified length of time, but rather a result) . On the other hand at 16 and seriously mentally ill she doesn't belong in real prision and if I were the neighbors I wouldn't want her out next year.

How/why someone would be so naive to believe in the internet-created myth is beyond me. I do not think I would consider it a psychiatric problem, but obviously the court has a reason for deciding that is the appropriate action.

I feel bad for the family of the victim, though.

Some can be so whacked out, they can't be helped. I would never trust that type of person to walk around freely in society ever again.

Don't even see the point. 25 in an institution will probably make her more crazy if anything.

I don't understand the sentence. Mental institutions exist to treat mental illness. Which mental institution would agree to keep a person past the point where they are mentally healthy?
In quoting my post, you affirm and agree that you have not been goaded, provoked, emotionally manipulated or otherwise coerced into responding.
