I did not expect this chart to be popular with the trumpers, it does after all show that president Obama's first year stock market increases are greater than trump's.

Interesting for what it says. What it doesn't say is why. Obama and the Federal Reserve threw two trillion dollars into the economy in his first year. The Federal Reserve is taking money out of the economy right now.
You just can't give Trump his due. Probably kill you. Won't change anything either.
The chart:
That is deceptive in five ways.
One, it doesn't show the near steady rise of the stock market, but uses first term in office as a baseline.
Two, related, because the market is steadily trending on a rise, a 10% rise in FDR's first year is little compared to a 10% rise in any president's fist year after.
Three, it's a slice in time that fails to show what happened before and after.
Four, normally it takes years before any actions affecting the market actually take effect--a President's first year is likely the effects of his predessessor.
Five, "performance by President" is pretty much bunk. Presidents let alone Congresses really down't have much affect on the economy, other than to do harm in escalating the business cycle, such as the government did in creating the Great Depression and the Great Recession and others.
