Southwest reaches settlement in price-fixing class action; will cooperate -vs- others

Southwest reaches settlement in price-fixing class action; will cooperate against other airlines. It used to be the phone companies that were my archenemy; then it turned to the cable companies. Now, after making me sit for 13 hours in the Omaha airport it's the airlines -- that (as an industry) appear to care less about customers. A judge has given preliminary approval of a class-action settlement with Southwest Airlines for $15 million and “significant cooperation” in proving a cartel case against codefendants American, Delta and United airlines, according to court documents. Remember when we had to bail them out to keep them afloat after 911?

Airlines and their pricing and their total indifference to customers has gotten out of control. They made seats smaller they add charges for everything. Its gotten way out of hand.

Completely out of hand. We made arrangements to fly 12 people to Seattle in July for an Alaskan Cruise. We were to leave crack of dawn from Akron/Canton regional airport. We were notified that we were changed to 10 p.m., Akron Canton. We changed flights to crack of dawn Cleveland Hopkins (closer but twice the parking cost and mess). We were notified that the Cleveland flight was moved to noon and then back to dawn. We had hoped to get to Seattle late morning / early afternoon so we can show my buddy's kids the fish market etc. I get you that they will change that flight several more times and we'll end up going out of Akron / Canton. They don't care about their customers.

They just change to benefit them at will with no regard for the customers, this cannot be allowed to go on.
Hopefully southwest will shed light on this airline cabal of thieves

Since it was July, I can only assume there was an outbreak of storms somewhere that was throwing a monkey wrench into everything. Same thing happened to a friend of mine with a group of 16 going to vegas. They broke them apart into different routes and still got them all there within a half hour of each other on a much shorter delay than you had.
