    Oprah is a bad idea. I certainly hope she doesn't run.

    I really hope that Trump hasn't started a trend of celebrity candidates rather than experienced and qualified candidates. That could be the start of idiocracy.

    Unfortunately, the mudslides always follow the fires in California. It's been that way ever since I can remember. This year's fires were really extreme and now, so are the mudslides because there is no vegetation to hold the soil. California has really unique soil conditions. I think it contains too much sand, so it's really susceptible to water saturation. I'm not sure what they could do to stabilize it other than covering the landscape with willow trees which have root structures that remain closer to the surface and really hold on to the soil.

    I agree. What I am looking for is someone middle aged with a minimal amount of political baggage who is currently in office and has big ideas.
