The protesters that did illegal stuff during the occupy protests were not a big group of people overall. The average person there didn't rape people, weren't doing all kinds of drugs, weren't $#@!ing in the streets, weren't saying anti-american rhetoric, and didn't interrupt life in NYC or most of the other cities they they protested in. When you have thousands of people gathering for months there will probably be some crappy moments and bad people show up, but to call everybody that was there a criminal is a bit of a stretch. Some friends and I went to some of the protests that were in downtown portland last year to watch and listen am I a criminal? I don't remember doing drugs, $#@!ing people in the street, or talking bad about America while I was there. There will be stupid people at any big protest regardless of the views that they have.

How come there were none of these people at the townhalls where we Tea Partiers showed up? We lasted longer than OWS and none of that stuff happened.

The difference is that the occupy protests lasted for months without end. A lot of them didn't go home during that time and because of that the chance of crime increases. I would bet if the tea party rallies stayed in the same area for a length of time with people sleeping, eating and living in that space it would have had some of the same problems.

I don't see how you reach that conclusion. I don't have a way of proving you wrong because the hypothetical situation of Tea Partiers camping out at spots for months on end never happened.
We have lives that include stuff to do, jobs, family, and friends.

About as much as insufficient proof made O.J. Simpson innocent. Let's face it, the OWS crowd was a bunch of deadbeats and their goal was violence. I don't doubt there were a few sincere and decent people there who we simply gullible but the prevalence of violence was not isolated.

There is no comparison with the Tea Party folks or even the Million Man March on Washington, which although it wasn't close to a million was still a lot of people.
