I would guess that author is counting on many in the social justice movement to become followers of the Nation of Islam. They are also indoctrinated to believe that the best what to get along with anyone is through policies of appeasement. and they would be hoping against to take in thousands of refugees that would be Muslim.
I appreciate you contribution and the effort you put into it, but it isn't actually the question that was asked. I asked what is the current second largest religious group in the US.

The answer to that is Jews at 1.9% of the population. Muslims are currently in at .9% This is however not the way the rest of the world is balanced. World wide Jews are pretty much at the bottom of the stack population wise with only a few tens of millions of adherents while there are a couple of billion Muslims. Islam is #2 world wide while Jews come in below "other religions" in the linked chart. It is not at all unreasonable to assume that in a few decades there will be more Muslims than Jews in the US. Current immigration rates would pretty much insure it.

To your point I would say that conversion of the current population isn't needed. It's probably gonna happen regardless.

In short this isn't a false narrative at all, definitely not "fake news" as the OP tries to portray it.

Seriously, you're seeing something that doesn't exist. At least not in this benign article. Not everything is a conspiracy.
Sadly the thought of a growing Muslim population in the US sends many conservatives into an unreasoning panic.

Yep, this thread proved that on some subjects conservatives act like snowflakes. This should be stickied.

Hate to break this to you but Catholics and Protestants are both Christians. Catholics were the first Christians.

Nah, there is proof of that pretty much every day in a variety of threads. Sticking this one would just give them one more to deny and ignore.

There's obviously some kind of motive behind claiming that Muslims will compose the second most practiced religion in America by 2030, but will only make up close to 2% of the population.

Do you notice how the left wingers respond when you ask to opine as to what that motive might be? They go crazy. There's a reason for that too.

The jewish faith is not the second most practiced faith in America. That would be the Catholic faith.

I've noticed that you and the other left wing types are trying your best to avoid the actual topic here and create phony diversions.

This is exactly how liberals try to create diversions and avoid the topic. They just don't seem to have the ability to face any issue or answer any questions honestly.
