Who else is really banging at the door to get in? What happens to America when the population shrinks? Do you really think that people are legally immigrating to live on welfare?

We bring in more than a million of the world's poorest, dumbest, sickest people every year. We have brought in more than 50 million. And we have around 45 million people on welfare.

It is time to move to a greatly restricted, merit-based system.

Unfortunately many countries have no money. No money to support their populations with welfare, food, medicine, etc. So America looks good to many. Many countries don't have a major economic export that will support their country alone. Many countries are still plagued with terrorists, pirates and slow or corrupt justice systems. I think they believe anything, especially America, is a much better place to try to make a living and to survive. Who can blame them. If they lived in America they would see that things within this nation appear vastly different than what they are told.

You notice the left media shows the negative responses of people to the story and not people who question the veracity of the statement being reported.

I wonder what the Americans who come from or descend from those countries think of his remarks?

They probably agree. If their countries weren't $#@!holes, they would not have come here to escape them.

While the language is harsh, most of those areas do suck. Preferring immigrants that are more likely to contribute than be a drain on resources isn't necessarily racist. It's unfortunate that demographics and such play out in a one sided way.
