    Exactly right.

Their political beliefs tend towards uniformity on everything that matters, so their calls for "diversity" and "multiculturalism" are ultimately hollow.

True, but if we want to identify the foundation of "Americanism", then we need to look to the founding. And there is zero reason to believe the founders were fine with unchecked immigration into their States and communities. Indeed, immigration would have been strictly regulated by the local communities, much the same way it is in Switzerland.

No doubt. I'm just saying we don't have go back very far. The will of the American people with regard to immigration was repeatedly and insistently ignored well into the 1990s. Now these people try to pass this bologna off as the traditional American perspective? lol

Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

Exactly. You can look different but you can't really be different.

Ironically enough, the only reason why Trump even has a say over immigration in the USA is because progressives have been nationalizing every aspect of American politics, including immigration. Before the progressive era, immigration was handled almost exclusively at the State and local level. Basically, if you could assimilate into an American community, then you could stay and become an American. Now, the US government is the sole authority on who is legally allowed to stay here, and progressives have nobody but themselves to blame.

Lee says, people come here from 'horrible' countries, for a better life....so, he admits, they are coming from $#@!hole countries..... People don't generally want to leave beautiful, wonderful, pleasant, countries.
