A lot of my family came here after WWI. Some right before WW2 from Germany and Romania, which were terrible places at the time.
People don't make the drastic decision to move thousands of miles away from kith and kin on a lark or for a slightly better lifestyle. Moving somewhere in which you don't speak the language and have no cultural connection is difficult especially if you are poor. You are essentially saying goodbye to your family, some of whom you may never see again. Some people have a very odd impression of why people choose to immigrate.

Everybody is repeating this terrible slur. What I want to know is who was there and says Trump said these things? If the President didn't say it then we need to get those people out of office.

My gosh, because freedom of speech is so terrible, right? Anybody who slurs the president must be punished?

    Are you $#@!ing kidding me?

In the USA, we have the ABSOLUTE right to criticize our politicians! We can say anything we want about our politicians, whether it it true of false. And we get to say it without repercussions.

You want to live in Russia, go.

But this is the USA, and anything regarding politicians is fair game.

OMG, It's so hard to believe Trump would say this? Are you serious?

And anyone who would say this about your dear leader must lose his or her job!

Can you even believe such a thing would ever be said, much less allowed? Your leader must be protected at all costs! Make sure they're fired! All opposition must be punished!

Are you $#@!ing kidding me? Who else should be fired for slurring your leader?

I'll go on record right now, $#@! TRUMP!

Should I be fired from my job too?

I'll say it again, $#@! TRUMP!

I'll slur him for days. Just tell me how many you want.

Fire him too! I mean really. Trump is such a good guy. So honorable. Best president ever...

    Right?

Let's make sure he gets fired. Criticism is not to be tolerated, right?

Fire anyone who critcizes Trump. Right?

Tell you what, you damn well better watch yourselves. The special elections handed you your asses. And the midterms will do even more.

    You should go... and stay.

I think our immigration policy toward certain countries should be that in order to admit one of them, a Liberal must leave the country to make room for the new immigrant.

No. The move thousands of miles away and risk everything because they live in a shiithole.
