    With so many data breaches happening on a regular basis it only seems like good sense. Every time one uses a credit/debit card you are opening yourself up to another exposure of identity theft/data mining/breach.
    We have Life lock for that very reason.

    It is probably based on state law. I am not sure that I could use a credit card here to buy a car. Last time I had to get a special type of check endorsed by my bank. (I put half down and financed the rest.)
