As I said much earlier this is an area of philosophy that I'm learning. Part of the learning process is to read about it, try to understand it, and then put it in words trying to discuss it...as best I can. It may well be that much of what I post is dead wrong, thus I start with someone else's write up on it and try to discuss it.

What I understand of it says it's important in understanding much of what the left thinks (or, better, feels) and says and does (in law).

If you're reading it, and getting anything out of it, then it's worth it and I'll continue.

Just happened across this. It might be what Kacper was talking about postmodernism being incohesive. The video discusses the three main stages of postmodernism from the 1950s to today--stage three should be familiar to anyone following what's happening on campuses today. Hicks is the author of Explaining Postmodernism: Skepticism and Socialism from Rousseau to Foucault.

That make sense because all that would tie these strands together is their temporal postmodern context.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.
