Yeah, governments don't dictate facts and reality. They can $#@! off with their propaganda.
I don't think that the government should be involved. I do think that people, now more than ever, should be taught to research the stories that they read.
People also have to recognize the difference between editorial opinions and hard facts. News, is no longer the province of Media outlets who have to substantiate their stories, if push comes to shove and that standard never required that what they publish is the truth, but that they meet a certain standard of showing good faith in repeating what they are told by apparently legitimate sources. People need to be their own news police and recognize that many internet sources are simply forums for opinion and not facts. If you read it on the internet, it's not necessarily true.
