I actually think that Trump could make some political Hay with this.

I totally agree with ending the talks on DACA until such a time that the budget is passed, the Democrats did not have anything in the bill that they really did not like. So I like taking the most import thing to them away from them.

But I would come out on Monday if I was Trump and say this is a good test to see just how many departments are not needed. and that they plan on massive cuts to bring down spending

Then I would send a bill up to congress to end funding of Planed Parenthood.

That is the danger the democrats are risking with their shut down. People may realize that we don't need as much government as we have.

Congress has a Constitutional duty to pass a budget. The Dems are putting illegals above their duty to the Constitution.
