Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.

Americans, for better or worse, don't like "radical". Now that may change as the country continues to change in demographic terms but for now there simply isn't anything radical on offer in the American mainstream. The term "extreme" or "far" is used as mere pejorative. Crepitus, for example, uses the term "far right" for that which he does not agree with. Boris uses the term "Bolshevik" (and he's serious) to describe that which he does not agree with. It's all so goofy. The truth is that political conformity is the American way. You'll argue about this or that on tPF but we all have the same overall desires: more money, more cars, more vacations and more junk you're convinced you need. Trust me, no one is trying to change our way of life. That, my dear, woudl be radical.

Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

I know some pretty right leaning Christians who don't believe in AGW who do quite a bit for the environment. They are "conservationists" not "environmentalists" so they are clearly evil with their recycling and cleaning up trash for all the wrong reasons.

Maybe....but I haven't been to church since I graduated school and soon learned the Priest was screwing several of the wives. I realized that many in the congregation had a cult like mentality and I was definitely not interested in being part of the "flock".

I do think you're right that the topic of discussion varies depending on the political views of the congregation.

I think the open borders, amnesty-group doesn't realize how destructive their desires will be for all of us. I called one a useful idiot and was banned. You called one (the same one?) a "useful idiot" and escaped unscathed. Fascinating.

Machiavelli never actually said that, if I remember correctly.

No, I don't think so either. That they genuinely believe they're doing the ethical or "right" thing is what makes them so potentially destructive. It's quite eye opening how "conservatives" and progressives will join together in distorting this nation's history to make their pseudo-ethics sound traditionally American. I'm calling bull$#@! what it is...bull$#@!

That's not what I said. I said the churches I have attended didn't discuss politics. This is in spite of the fact that the vast majority of congregants are politically conservative.

Sorry - I wasn't trying to insult or imply that was what you said. I was kinda being funny but with an actual situation that occurred in the small town I grew up in.
