OK, so I took Trish's advise and went out today--granted it was in the 70s and sunny--but now I'm all sniffles and sneezes from allergies.

CHRIS - I didn't say to go frolicking in the weeds! lol

Take some benadryl and rinse your nasal cavity out.

Seriously, this is interesting. Could this be the reason Yankees are a lot more aggressive than Floridians?
Maybe you haven't heard, but they recently invented this thing called.....clothing.

Fall is my favorite time of year and summer is probably my least. Not because of the temperature but because of all the people. But I tend to be a loner and enjoy time by myself soaking in my surroundings with as little people noise as possible.

I'm getting ready to go out and take a walk. It's a mixture of rain and snow happening right now so I won't be out long but I do want to get out and stretch my legs. It helps me set my day up.
I walked to the mailbox this morning. Don't worry, it's a half a mile away.

I will carpet bomb the area with groundclear come spring and eventually fill it in over the season depending on what is on sale.

I am also building a few more new small garden beds here and there. Some will be dedicated to mother nature (i.e. wildflower/milkweed beds) and some I hope to eventually make into permaculture spots but they will probably be just veg beds for the next year. I don't like to put perennials in a new spot for at least a year, sometimes more, to get them settled without a bunch of break-through weeds before I go to the expense of filling them with asparagus or whatever.
Asparagus takes forever to grow. At least a year if not two before you really get much that comes up.

I miss a nice fresh garden. I hated it growing up because we had to till it and pull the weeds but I really appreciate it now.

A year or two is not forever in the grand scheme of things and I usually wait 3 on new asparagus and then only harvest half the bed at a time. Permaculture is kind of like that. Takes longer to get good volume off most fruit trees. That is why it goes into its own bed. It can just sit there and be weedy until the appointed hour arrives.
