Actually, although I think he is a total ass I would also unban Bethere. I think everyone's voice should be heard and the members can decide to listen or not.

Well, sure, when it comes to political matters, we each are partisan/ideological one way or another.
I was trying to get at this issue with resister is not partisan for everyone. Some people simply liked the guy.

He gave what he got around here. I thought he did a helluva job defending his OP's. When he was wrong, he at least man up and say so. He is brash, sometimes somewhat uncouth, but has never held his hand out in here, never asked for anything. I wouldn't mind of he came back, but is he going to be hawked over? Under the microscope all of the time?
I say, restore him.

And my point is that some support his banning because of pure partisanship. The people want him banned because they said he was a troll are generally trolls themselves.
