Wow. I thought I was the only one who thought that the kids in WOTW were annoying. It's like things weren't bad enough without their selfish whining and putting everyone at risk!

    OK
I watched it tonite. Now I am more confused than ever!!!

Although I expected the Good Doctor and Mary to have a relationship at some point. She has been hovering around him since the beginning. Still am confused about Moore. Is he or isn't he attracted to young boys? He does spend a lot of time in the slums.

And what was the deal with the Doctor sticking the scalpel in "Rosie"?

Every week in my opinion it becomes more liberal in outlook. Look at the way the "swells" are described.

Sara pushed too many of the Doctor's button's, brings out the evil in him, which he wants to repress, so he turns to silent Mary.

    Moore probably struggles with it.

I guess the doctor wanted to know what it was like to cut someone.

The cop tries to play the doctor against JP Morgan by accusing him of associating with socialists.

My synoposis of last night: The doctor was running around tying up loose ends while Sara forged forward into new aspects of the case.

I have yet to truly understand just what Sara's role is in all this. I will say she did come up with the idea the killer may have been a soldier but even then we don't know if this is pertinent or not.

Its an intriguing program and at the end we will probably be stunned to discover who the actual killer may be. Is it a complete stranger or is it one of the players so far and why is he/she (haven't ruled that out yet) doing this.

There was a movie filmed in 1931 starring Peter Lorre about a child murderer in Germany.
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0022100/...m_flmg_act_110

The ending was quite interesting as it asked the question that if Lorre was crazy to kill all those little girls should he have been put to death?

Perhaps anyone who commits these type of crimes and cannot control their impulses should be since there is no guarantee they can be safely released back into society.

As a final note, I did some research on crime in the New York at the time of Alienist. There was nothing I could find about serial killers killing anyone in NYC.

Almost forgot since Netflix came out with the second season of Jessica Jones and Sneaky Pete.

Maybe she figured out who the child murderer actually is and the producers of the program kidnapped her and are holding her in a dank basement someplace.

    I always wondered about her.

Anyway, season nearing end, so, based on that, they must be converging on the killer.

Poor doctor, finds love only to have it ripped away from him.

They kill off Mary to disable the doctor while the fearless four, with simple, tedious, thorough detective work, close in on the killer.

Agreed. One more episode. Will there be a sequel. It has been an interesting series. I would have actually hoped that the child killer was someone known by all rather than a garden variety nut job.WHERE IS TRISH? SHE STARTED ALL THIS!
