Historically, China and Korea are bitter enemies. And the Korean Peninsula is a historic invasion route into China.

China is strongly opposed to any attempts at regime change in North Korea. They have told the US again and again to resolve their problems with North Korea using diplomacy, not force. So if the US ignores China's advice and starts a war on the Korean peninsula, China will try to make US efforts as costly and difficult as possible.

On Friday, China’s state-run People’s Daily newspaper reported that Beijing was also investing in establishing nuclear monitoring stations throughout the world, but especially near North Korea, to more rapidly gather information about a potential airstrike. While carefully noting that “detection is not targeted at any particular country,” the newspaper noted that the planned 11 nuclear monitoring stations “are responsible for detecting nuclear activities in neighboring countries, including North Korea.”.....snip~


Evidently China isn't looking at the US in this matter, as we aren't one of their neighbors. Just an FYI there.

So all that crap about what China says.....doesn't dictate our policy. So if we decide to deal with Lil Kim. China can go ahead and jump. Losing more than 400k like they did last time.

China isn't going to war for NK. This isn't 1950 and they won't go back to the dark ages for NK. They are probably concerned that NK would go crazier after going crazy and starting a war with us. They would feel the same if we start the war.

I wonder if the gathering of troops on his border is making fat boy nervous or does he think he is impervious to action from China. Not knowing a lot of NK history, has China ever massed this amount of troops near or on the N. Korean Border?

They intervened in the Korean war with 300,000 troops as we came up to their border. They had just become Communist and were afraid we were going to invade them. They kept pouring in troops. They admit they lost a million KIA.

These aren't the Mao commies now. They will go where the odds are best.
