What do rank and file military think of Trumps parade?

It doesn't matter what they think about it. Troops have never liked drill and ceremony. It is however, part of the job.

The Leftists on this forum has expressed their open contempt and hatred of our military. We get it. We heard you. We don't care. You can stop now.

I haven't seen anyone on the left express hatred or contempt for military personnel. Care to show us some examples?

It seems to me that Trump's desire for military parades isn't to honour troops...he just thinks it's cool.

As a retired Infantryman I am opposed to this kind of stuff. I was in the Berlin Brigade and we had to march in the Allied Forces Day Parade through the streets of Berlin every year. We hated it. We knew why we were doing it though. There's no reason to do this today. [

I disagree. I agree with the "hating it" part. You are supposed to hate it. I disagree with the "there's no reason to do it today" part. The same reasons that existed in the time of Caesar and Napoleon and Frederick the Great exist today.

By the way, that is not a knock on the combat ability of the brigade. It was a good unit. It had to be. Part of the reason it had to be as good as it was is BECAUSE it was a "showcase unit". Its location and mission made it a showcase unit. 2AD (Forward) was another showcase unit (NORTHAG) and they trained their asses off.

I knew a bunch of guys who worked Det A and they thought highly of the Berlin Brigade... even though they might never admit that to a member of it.

I honestly haven't seen it. If it's so prevalent, it shouldn't be hard to show me just one example.
