The teaparty started out as a good thing, they had rallys across the country and the middleclass supported it. Then the middleclass realized what their agenda really was and stopped supporting them.
The teaparty represented the conservative far right, their agenda was to end social security, medicare, medicaid and end unions to lower wages across the board. When the teaparty was in full swing, Paul Ryan made 3 budget proposals that ended or began the end of social security and medicare. They list the support of the middleclass.
I have traditionally beeen against anything far right or far left, both always go way too far for my liking

“Conscientiously believing that the proper condition of the negro is slavery, or a complete subjection to the white man, and entertaining the belief that the day is not distant when the old Union will be restored with slavery nationally declared to be the proper condition of all of African descent, and in view of the future harmony and progress of all the States of America, I have been induced to issue this address, so that there may be no misunderstanding in the future”

No I watched their new shrink-wrapped anti-obamacare buses pull up with crowds of people pouring out of them rabble rousing for the cameras before they all got back in and drove away to their next stop. I also was bombarded with their professional designed mailers several days a week for months. There was too much going on there to believe this was a "grass-roots movement".
So. I was speaking to my exposure to them. I just told you my first exposure to them when I looked out my office window and said, "What the hell is going on over on the courthouse steps" even though it wasn't the courthouse steps people just call them that because it used to be the courthouse before they moved the courthouse down the street that has no steps.
