Let me get this right; you let one person's views shape your viewpoint on a news network?? That would be like me saying the Fox News Channel is a liberal trash heap because Bret Baier is a liberal.

Think 3rd party for 2024 folks. Clean up America.

Once I tell you that we agree to disagree there will be no more discussion between us in the thread so please don't waste your time continuing to argue your points because I will not respond.

I am only gonna watch FOX too.

I truly find this thread humorous. The posts are pretty funny.

I like that people tune in to watch opinion shows and equate that with hard news reporting. It is all trickled through here and I am surprised at some of the posters comments.

Hey left, no matter how smart you like to think Rachael M is she is not the news. Same with Tucker Carlson or whomever. Not the news. They cater to an audience and feed them to get ratings which keeps them employed.

It's not necessarily the "news" that I'm interested in. I'm curious as to how the information is framed and presented. But you bring up a good point.

The information is framed and presented based on the stations editorial policy in effect at the time. Fox targets a certain audience just like MS and CNN target a certain audience; one thing all of them have in common is to get a slice of the advertising pie that is out there. It's all about your target audience and ratings since ratings equals advertising revenue.

Fox is unique that it is the only commercial cable news channel that targets conservatives whereas cable news channels CNN, MSNBC and networks ABC, NBC, CBS, etc all target more liberal/centrist viewers, so the advertising revenue is divided 5 or 6 different ways when you come down to it. Let's say if there were only two cable news channels competing for viewers, Fox and CNN, CNN's numbers would most likely bury Fox's ratings because if you add up all the numbers that the liberal oriented news channels have compared to conservative Fox, they most likely would add up to be more.

Obviously nothing is chiseled in stone, but as a rule that is the way things work in the news business.

Personally am a big fan of NPR. Goes waaay beyond their politics. Just a cool entertaining network.

(And the news about brett baier is surprising....never heard that label assigned to him.)

Be nice - most of us make typo's for a variety of reasons. I'm pretty sure you knew what he was trying to say.
