What do rank and file military think of Trumps parade?

98% say NO according to a Military Times poll! http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefi...ilitary-parade
Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I digress....

When I was enlisted I also would say no. I was a field soldier. Not a toy solider.

I never spit shined my boots or dress shoes. Brush shine was the best they got. I was more interested in field training.

Glad to hear the new generation agrees with me.

It doesn't matter what they think about it. Troops have never liked drill and ceremony. It is however, part of the job.

The Leftists on this forum has expressed their open contempt and hatred of our military. We get it. We heard you. We don't care. You can stop now.

Well of course, the military hate Trump, they hate the military, they hate the United States.

Why would they want to be shown any appreciation from the rest of us? Why should we show them any appreciation anyway, they are nothing but baby killers and puppets of a corrupt and imperialistic government.

It has nothing to do with the "new generation". Soldiers from the days of the Roman legions on have always hated parades and drill and ceremony. It was a stupid poll that anyone who has ever spent twenty minutes in the military knew in advance what the results would be.

D&C is part of being a soldier. Caesar knew it. Washington knew it. Patton knew it. They understood why.

Hated of military? What a stupid observation.

Take off your blinders Jim. You support the wrong side on this issue. Don't try so hard to stay in good with the Left that you turn in to something you will hate.

I did it. I just didn't excel at it. When I was a squad leader we always were best in the battalion in the field. Not so much in garrison.

As a retired Infantryman I am opposed to this kind of stuff. I was in the Berlin Brigade and we had to march in the Allied Forces Day Parade through the streets of Berlin every year. We hated it. We knew why we were doing it though. There's no reason to do this today.

    We weren't showcase soldiers.

I went through phases. I would spit shine my boots on occasion. I had boots which were were only worn in garrison.
