Registration creates a paper trail which can speed up an investigation. Whether or not we need this probably depends on one's perspective and needs.

By the way the legal sale of firearms is tracked which is why this guy got caught....
The last legal owner being known gets a visit and asked "Who did you sell your gun to" at which point the person he fingers gets a visit and the ball is off and rolling.

Should it be the people that gave the gun owner the OK that are held accountable. And if you think about it, they were just following the rules handed down by Congress, So actually Congress should be held accountable.

NO that won't work, because they are not in charge of enforcement, So the only person that really should be held accountable is the nations Chief Law enforcement officer at the time???? YEP Toss Obama's ass in jail.
Easy, there's a difference between getting shot to death by a felon with a gun and a legal owner with a gun.

I have heard you can store your grains in a hole lined with leaves as long as you get all the air out. Let us know if that really works. I may have to join you in the underground soon apparently saying I was going to go after the black deer running around my neighborhood with a crossbow hasn't gone over so well at Chez Kacper.

Nonetheless, while you may favor a totalitarian state, many Americans do not. I doubt it will come to war, but if it did, it'd be a short one.

That is the way it works now.

When the police initiate a firearms trace, it works like this... ATF contacts the manufacturer, who tell them what distributor received the gun from them. Then they contact the distributor who tells them what dealer received the gun. Then the dealer tells them who actually bought the gun.

I agree. Your side would lose pretty quickly.
