Because it become public record, and makes me more likely to be broken into by people that can't legally purchase a gun.

it puts my family in danger.

It also is not legal for them to mandate registration as it infringes on people rights.

Think of it as the gay person that can't purchase a cake at a certain bakery, It is the same logic.

We have a winner! The states can require you to register your firearms, the federal government can't

If I remember right, you lost your guns in that duck hunting accident where the boat tipped over. Shame!

I got sick of mine and sold them to that guy in the place.

You know, rather than requiring buyers to register weapons in a common database, it would be much easier to require sellers to register the weapons, make, model and serial number, to whom they were sold (i.e. gun vendors) and to whom they were resold in a common database. The gun manufacturers would register the weapons and all vendors would do is complete the transfer information. The only difference from what happens today is where that information is stored.

So, did anyone come for those guns?

So does registering your car make it more likely to be stolen?

How would it put you family in danger? I thought households with guns were safer?

Registering does not infringe on your right to own a gun in any way.

So you don't want certain people to be able to buy guns at certain stores?

That is what happened in this case along with some posts from social media, so what needs changed?
