I think that it is fair to discuss the consequences of repealing the 2nd amendment.

The reason that you would do this is to remove weapons from the street, by Confiscation. There are many, including myself that would have NO intention of turning over my collection. So using statistics there are over 300 million guns in the hand of about 200 million gun owners. Lets say that 80% just give up and turn in their weapons. You still have 20 million people that are not going away quietly. If they averaged just one for one casualties when they came to arrest them and take their guns? You are talking about 30 to 40 million people killing each other.

Kind of makes the 600 thousand in the civil war look like a walk in the park.

The state is absolutely desperate to disarm the public. Makes you wonder why.

The Demo party is damn near broke now. Almost to the point of insolvency. Pushing for repeal of the 2nd. They will lose even more money. Then go bankrupt.
Lets say you are 100% correct on gun ownership and on the few rightists who want repeal of the 2nd amendment; there is no way a repeal will ever occur, so why worry about it? You know as well as I know, if there is no repeal then there should be no consequences that would occur and life goes on.

Look at it this way, unless a vast majority of Americans get fed up with the shootings that occur, nothing is going to happen. On the other hand if enough do get fed up with the shootings, then you'll most likely see change happen in some form whether we agree or not on what the change will be.
God Bless America, God Bless our Military and God Bless the Police who defended the country against the insurgents on January 6, 2021

Think 3rd party for 2024 folks. Clean up America.

Once I tell you that we agree to disagree there will be no more discussion between us in the thread so please don't waste your time continuing to argue your points because I will not respond.

So why let the NY Times print $#@! they know isn't going to happen? Stir up trouble and collude with the Democrats while knowing the mope that wrote the piece is an Elitist Democrat.

Funny whenever right wingers talk about free speech they're told of course you can have free speech but that doesn't mean you are free of consequences. What happened to that $#@!?

Because they have a right under the First Amendment to print whatever they want regardless of whether they are right or wrong. If you are proposing censorship (and I hope your not) that would reek of fascism.

Repealing the 2nd Amendment would be a pretty extreme leftist proposal. By definition that would not be a Conservative view.

Can you provide examples of some of the "right wingers" on board with the idea of repealing the second amendment??

What I will give this columnist credit for is telling the truth. He states what I believe the majority of the left want and that is to repeal the 2nd amendment and confiscate the Guns from law abiding citizens. They will not move to take them from criminals because they use high crime areas as a means for more government control

Why do they need to get the guns out of law abiding citizens? Because they can't move the agenda any further by constitutional means.
I never claimed you were rich. You aren't. You have been manipulated by the rich to vote for their best interests instead of your own.

Don't ask me, I'm big on the first amendment regardless of someone's political persuasion unless they shout "fire" in a movie theater or something similar or libelous.
