States do receive grants and other special funding from the federal government. So, they are able to fund programs that they may not have necessarily budgeted for with State dollars.

I do not believe for one moment that the Feds are funding local law enforcement of local laws. Federal dollars always come with massive federal intrusion. We would be far better off if we stopped providing federal tax dollars to state and local law enforcement programs.

What I do accept is sometimes a federal requirement must be funded to allow local law enforcement of that federal requirement.

LEO just arrested a kid here in southern Indiana for threatening...........He had not actually committed murder, but he was planning doing it at his school.

Additionally, if there is new law then let it be enhancing laws preventing the mentally ill from accessing weapons. Many people knew Cruz was a nutjob. The FBI and local authorities were made aware. Part of the problem is the process of taking away a person's guns who has been diagnosed with Autism. Part of it is breaking doctor-client privilege. Part of it is the funds to allow LEOs enforce such laws.

Instead, what we are seeing are Democrats screaming, once again, ban guns, ban high capacity magazines, ban the NRA (and only the NRA ) from having a lobby and donating money to political parties and individuals.

And that is a problem that has gone on to long. One that does need to be addressed. The Lame Stream should be about doing their job and not acting as activists for the Demos. When a Democrat get in front of the camera. He or she should be asked why are the being dishonest to the People. Why are they lying to the people. Do they know anything about the issue at hand. If not.....then the Lame Stream should immediately shut down the camera time. Telling the Demo. When you learn about the facts and the truth. Then you can have some camera time. I keep saying this but no one listens. It doesn't matter how many laws are passed if there is no funding to help enforce them...

We already have police agencies at every level. They don't get paid on a basis of how many laws they are sworn to enforce. Every time a new law is created, we don't need to increase spending accordingly.

The laws were there. The signs were there. People dropped the ball. This kid was even taken to a mental health facility. At the time those in that facility didn't think he needed to be hospitalized.
The police showed up at his house 39 times. One wherein he beat his mother. He should have been charged. If he would have. He woulkdnt have been able to buy a gun.

So the leftness needs to be real and ask what law wasn't in force to prevent this. Upon discovering the answer. They need to give up their agenda driven narrative and ask themselves why their ideas of Gun free zones. Fails......doesn't work. Then why they are inadequate to even sit at the table if they can't be honest.

The laws ARE there but the money isn't. I do not pretend to know all the answers but what I can say for certain is neither do most people.

In addition to laws we have to get rid of other laws that prevent enforcement of laws. A sprinkle of common sense would help enormously.

We also need to stop with the finger pointing because that only promotes more division, forcing people to shore up their defenses rather than taking a step back and doing some healthy self reflection on their roles and responsibilities.
