Trump: Take the Guns First. Due Process Later.

In a meeting with lawmakers from both parties to discuss gun control and school safety Wednesday, President Trump supported suggestions from Democrats, while disagreeing with Republicans and boasting about his willingness to buck the NRA.
Among the gun-control measures Trump supported were strengthening background checks, raising the minimum gun-purchasing age to 21, and taking guns away from people deemed a threat before getting a court order.
“A lot of times, by the time you go to court, it takes so long to go to court to get the due process procedures,” Trump said. “Take the guns first, go through due process second.”

Now, this is extremely interesting as to how the constitutionalists here will try to spin this. Take the guns, then worry about due process later? Wow, if only someone had warned his supporters, oh wait, they did.

Imagine the $#@! storm that would erupt on the internet and gun forums if Obama had uttered the same words.
“Conscientiously believing that the proper condition of the negro is slavery, or a complete subjection to the white man, and entertaining the belief that the day is not distant when the old Union will be restored with slavery nationally declared to be the proper condition of all of African descent, and in view of the future harmony and progress of all the States of America, I have been induced to issue this address, so that there may be no misunderstanding in the future”

I wondered when someone would bring this up. It is as if President Trump wants Republicans to lose the House, Senate, and the Presidency. Still, the last time President Trump used a Rope-A-Dope strategy to expose exactly what the Democrats really wanted it turned out to be a ruse.

But I am alarmed. I will check back in a couple of days.

Unsurprising. Trump's always been a liberal.

Trump Moves Way Left On Gun Control In Strange School Safety Roundtable — Here Are The Highlights

President Trump was all over the map during a roundtable on guns and school safety with a bipartisan group of lawmakers on Wednesday. Trump repeatedly strayed from Republican gun orthodoxy, supporting the expansion of background checks and the seizure of guns from certain people "whether they had the right or not," while blaming Democratic lawmakers for Congress' inability to pass gun control legislation.
    Highlights:
    • Trump Seemed To Support The Manchin-Toomey Background Check Proposal...
    • Trump Seemed To Flip Stances Concerning The Second Amendment...
    • Trump Appeared To Think That AR-15s Were A 'Black-Market' Problem...
    • Trump Pushed Against The Inclusion Of A Concealed Carry Provision In Gun Control Legislation...
    • Trump Also Tried To Blame Democratic Congressmen For Failed Gun Legislation...
    • Despite His Move Left On Gun Control, Trump Continued To Press For Increasing The Presence Of Guns In Schools...
    • He Also Suggested Eliminating Gun Free Zones...

He's wrong. Period. It's the same when the cops take your money and your car without a court hearing. Oh, wait, that was a Democrat rights theft.

The only person who can separate President Trump from his base is President Trump. Is that what President Trump is doing?

Rep. Thomas Massie Opposes Trump’s ‘Draconian’ Gun Control Proposal

...Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) introduced the SAFER Voter Act (H.R. 5112) to end a federal prohibition on adults aged 18 to 20 that is stopping them from being able to buy handguns from Federal Firearms License (FFL) holders. Massie thinks that the 2nd Amendment should not be up for grabs following a tragedy, and that more American citizens should exercise their rights rather than less.

“Why should a 20-year-old single mom be denied the right to defend herself and her children? 18, 19, and 20-year-olds are considered adults and are able to vote on important public policy issues. They can also form business contracts, get married, and serve in the military. As adults, these Americans should not be deprived of basic constitutional rights,” Massie said in a Facebook post.

President Trump echoed Democrats yesterday during a legislative summit with top Washington D.C. lawmakers. He indicated that Republicans were scared of the NRA and that due process should be revoked for gun owners in certain situations. Despite his constant support of Trump, Massie is sounding the alarms at these potential infringements upon the 2nd Amendment.

...“District of Columbia v. Heller established that gun control measures cannot be so draconian as to completely extinguish the right to keep and bear arms, yet that’s what happens when all gun purchases are prohibited for a certain class of adults based on age,” Massie said.

What he proposed is unconstitutional and I don't support it.

There should Never be the surrender of private property without the courts getting involved.

Now I could see something like a grand Jury that would have say, but confiscation with out legal authority

Would you use terms such as dictator, liberal, or communist?
