Of our government. Think about the debate we have concerning gun control today. How much power the government has to control the second amendment. To tell us what guns are legal, what carry laws are allowed, what licenses or background checks are necessary.
Our government was supposed to give the power to those who are being governed. It is up to We the People to tell the government how we want gun control, if any at all.
It is why voices from each side of this debate need to be heard, including our vital young people who have just been through this latest shooting. Agree, disagree, find ridiculous, find too emotional, so what. It's opinion coming from We the People, not any government entity. Should these kids in their generation of leadership seek to amend the second amendment, they'll know the process, where I don't believe it needs to be changed and thus vote not to amend, the vote is my point here.
This government was never formed as one that would be selling destructive weapons all over the world....but enforcing or regulating gun control over We the People who they're supposed to serve. Our Founders controlled guns....by limiting the size of the military, it was We the People who were armed to the teeth. The right to keep and bear arms.......was to prevent a dictator, land baron, or city boss, or Indian from harming you or yours. And/Or to prevent the government from walking in and taking your land....or yours.
Same reason the NRA deserves its' opinion and right to petition. Gun control, the laws that govern guns, who we allow to own weapons, who we don't...needs to come from the House of Representatives in this Member's opinion. Not from the Justice department, not from our courts, not Trump. The House of Representatives, We the People who many of us happen to be NRA Members. Hence yes....the NRA.....Parkland Shooter survivors...our liberals on this forum except for Common Sense and Dr. Who....we need to be dictating gun control if any. Not the Executive nor Judicial branches....the Legislature. We the People.
