Actually in the late 1800's and early 1900's the rich were swimming in it.

Today there are a lot more people that are upper class that before, and the policies supported by democrats are designed to be very hard on the poor and keep them dependent. That has not changed.

The great majority of liberals are no more socialists than the average conservative is. In fact, I don't know that I've ever personally known anyone who advocated socialism. Accusing most liberals of being socialists, based on what they advocate or the causes they support, makes no logical sense. Racial, religious and gender equality? Reproductive freedom? Drug legalization? Assisted suicide? What do those things have to do, in any way, with being anti-capitalistic?

Those things you list have nothing to do with the topic, the success of capitalism.

Why is it liberals always seem to jump in with distractions when comparisons between socialism and capitalism are made. Why be defensive if, as you claim, you're not socialists?

Horrible - that you think things are going great is telling.

Around 3 trillion in additional deficit spending, trashing of the environment, unleashing big banks and their predatory and high risk practices, messing with states rights, protectionist withdrawal from everything policies that have isolated us from our allies and from the world, ceding alt energy development (our future) to China ..
